Why I love These Movies..
"10 Things I Hate About You"
"I hate the way you talk to me.
I hate the way you talk to me and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick -It even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh - even worse when you make cry.
I hate it that you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you-
Not even close, not even a little bit, not any at all!"

"When Harry Met Sally"
"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour an a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest fo your life to start as soon as possible".

"The English Patient"
My darling. I'm waiting for you. How long is the day in the dark? Or a week? The fire is gone. And I'm cold, horribly cold. I really want to drag myself outside but then there'd be the sun. I'm afraid I'll waste the light on the paintings, not writing these words. We die. We die, we die rich with lovers and triumphs, tastes we have swallowed, bodies we have entered and swum up like rivers. Fears we have hidden in-- like this wretched cave. I want all this marked on my body. Where the real country is. Not boundaries drawn on maps, names of powerful men. I know you'll come carry me out to the Palace of Winds. That's what I've wanted: to walk in such a place with you. With friends and an earth without maps. The lamp has gone out and I'm writing in the darkness".

"As Good As It Gets"
Carol: Pay me a compliment Melvin, I need one. Quick. You have no idea how much what you have just said hurt my feelings.
Melvin: Okay, okay, would you sit down? For God's sakes, you--
Carol: A compliment is something nice about someone else.
Melvin: Okay, okay, can we order first?
Carol: Fine.
Melvin: (across the room) Can we get two orders of shells please? (to Carol) Baked or fried?
Carol: Fried... fried.
Melvin: One baked, one fried!
Waiter: Okay... I'll tell your waiter!
Melvin: Okay, okay, one compliment... uh... Oh! I got a good one, and it's true, too. Alright... I have this... ailment. And my doctor -this psychiatrist that I've been seeing- he's told me that in 90% of the cases, a pill really helps. Now I hate pills, never liked 'em, I'm using the word hate here with pills. Hate'em, very dangerous things, pills. Anyway, I never took them, but then that night... you know... when you came and you said that you would never... well, you know what you said, you were there. Anyway, after you came, the next morning, I took the pills.
Carol: I'm not quite sure how that's a compliment for me.
Melvin: The compliment is: you make me want to be a better man.

"Notting Hill"
William Thacker: You like Chagall?
Anna Scott: I do. It feels like how being in love should be. Floating through a dark blue sky.
William Thacker: With a goat playing the violin.
Anna Scott: Yes- happiness wouldn't be happiness without a violin-playing goat.

"Jerry Maguire"
If this (points to heart) is empty, this (points to head) doesn't matter.
----
Jerry Maguire: "I love you. You... complete me."
Dorothy Boyd: "Shut up. Just shup up. You had me at hello."

"Contempt" (Le Mépris)
Camille Javal: You like all of me? My mouth? My Eyes? My nose? And my ears?
Paul Javal: Yes, all of you.
Camille: Then you love me... totally?
Paul: Yes. Totally... tenderly... tragically.

"Breathless" (A Bout de Souffle)
Patricia Franchini: What is your greatest ambition?
Parvulesco: To become immortal, and then to die.

Richard Gere isn't actually one of my favorite actors, but what I do remember about that movie is the part where he tells Winona Ryder: "you ruined me for other women", then she tells him: "no, I fixed you for them", or something like that :-).. Inta shou ra2yak?

You have a great collection of truly memorable movie moments. Of course, no list is ever complete. Allow me to add mine...

    "Adaptation"

Charlie: "How come you were so happy?"
Donald: "I loved Sarah, Charles. It was mine, that love. I owned it. Even Sarah didn't have the right to take it away. I can love whoever I want."
Charlie: "But she thought you were pathetic."
Donald: "Well, that was her business, not mine. You are what you love, not what loves you. That's what I decided a long time ago."

    ZouNazar,
I have to confess that "Dead Man Walking" was The Reason I changed my mind about capital punishment. I still rememeber how much it affected me, the first time I saw it, although, that time, I didn't have the chance to watch it from the beginning. If I had to add another great movie right now, it would be the one I have just watched: "Life Is A Miracle".

    eve,

are you talking about that movie :
Bosnia, 1992. Luka, a Serbian engineer from Belgrade, has installed himself in a village in the middle of nowhere with his opera singer wife, Jadranka, and their son, Milos. Luka is preparing to build the railroad that will transform the region into a tourist's paradise. Utterly engrossed in his work and blinded by natural optimism, Luka remains deaf to the increasingly persistent rumblings of war. When the conflict explodes, Luka's life is turned inside out. His wife Jadranka disappears on the arm of a musician while his son Milos is called to the front. Ever optimistic, he waits for his family to return but Jadranka doesn't come back, Milos is taken prisoner and the Serbian army appoints Luka guardian of Sabaha, a Muslim hostage. Before long, Luka has fallen in love with Sabaha but the young woman is destined to be handed over in exchange for a Serbian captive: his son Milos
